The benefits of 100% cotton are that it has a heavier, more luxurious feel, and the non-ringspun variety is a good base for four color printing. This is because of its density and tight surface, which is ideal for the fine dots and the continuous ink layer involved in the four color printing process. Ringspun 100% cotton has an even softer feel, however the fuzzy texture can show through an image and may yield a worn look or a dull image.
The advantage of a 50/50 polyester cotton blend is that it is a more durable material and will hold up better under more frequent wearing and washing.
